The Artola courtyard house is the result of a comprehensive refurbishment where tradition and modernity coexist. The original project dates back to the 1960s, so the work on this two-storey house required special care due to its original design and the character of the whole community.
The heart of this house is the interior courtyard full of vegetation and colour that can be perceived from different rooms. The kitchen articulates the spaces and faces the courtyard, generating this permeability between interior and exterior space, ideal for enjoying aperitifs and summer dinners.
The interior spaces are linked to each other, and you can walk through the living room, dining room, kitchen, office and guest bedroom around the courtyard.
Three bathrooms and a toilet are completely renovated, all with a special character, and the flooring, inspired by Iranian marble, is used as a common thread throughout the house.
A terrace full of tranquillity is obtained by eliminating a one-water roof and the entire floor of the house is waterproofed to clean and prevent damp.
The whole house has an eclectic decoration with antique and modern elements, as well as elements from travels and personal experiences. The chromatic mix is very present and for this reason it was important that the base of the house had a neutral style that would fit in with the decorative elements.
